Dear Friends, Family, Fans, and Abolish the Crate Federation Members,

It’s that time of year again – Mother’s Day – and Grady and I have spent much time trying to figure out what to get Mom this year. After much thought, I’ve decided to give Mom two cuddles a day for an entire year plus a bonus coupon for “cuddles on demand.” I contemplated giving her a coupon for running with me in the pasture but Grady firmly, but kindly, suggested I stick with the cuddles present. Since he is in tune with what Mom likes, I decided to defer to his suggestion. Cuddles it is!

Grady decided to write Mom a poem. Most folks don’t know this but Grady is soon to be a published poet. I will keep you informed as this progresses.

Here is Grady’s poem.

MOM

There are many things I love about my Mom
To count them all would take so long
But humor me, reader, if you will
Relax, grab a drink, have your fill
And eat those treats before they’re gone.

There are dogs who can howl a song
Which I would love to do for my Mom
I guess I could bark
Perhaps at the park?
Instead I will write her a poem

I live in a house full of treats
I confess I find that neat
I never feel dread
I’m always well fed
Mom knows I love to eat!

Toys are lots of fun
Especially if you can run
With one in your mouth
Go any direction but south
Oddly, I’ve never seen it done by my Mom.

One of the best things in life that I’ve found
Is the mighty tennis ball
Bright yellow and round
I collect them, you know
But not just for show
Mom can out throw anyone around.

I have a good life it is true
With frisbees, toys and food.
My best friend, my brother, Dawson
Who is truly awesome
Yet he refuses to visit the zoo.

Living with Mom is a lark
I love her
I love her
I love her
With every bit of my heart.

There you have it. Chapter and verse.
